The event

The III Foro Brasil España aims to bring Brazil and Spain closer, inserting Brazilian and Spanish students and entrepreneurs in the discussions that have guided the Brazilian economy and politics in recent years, providing greater engagement with the market and the situation of the Country. . We prioritize the strengthening of ties through discussions about the “possible Brazil”, suggesting opportunities to generate wealth and jobs, based on the post-election scenario and the longest period of crisis experienced by the country.

All this debate will take place in the format of round tables and panels with important names on the national and international scene. A diverse group composed of businessmen, journalists, politicians and other opinion makers will debate topics such as politics, economics, diversity, media influence, challenges and opportunities in the post-election scenario.

DIAS TOFFOLI

DIAS TOFFOLI, Currently, he is a minister and president of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), the jurist has gone through several positions to reach the position he currently holds within Brazilian justice, such as: President of the National Council of Justice, Minister of the Superior Electoral Court , lawyer at the Attorney General’s Office as well as a professor and many other important positions.

ANDRÉ MENDONÇA

ANDRÉ MENDONÇA is currently Minister of Justice and Public Security. He has been a Union lawyer since 2000 and Union Attorney General since January 2019. In charge of AGU, he was responsible for altering the institution’s understanding to defend, in the Federal Supreme Court, the constitutionality of prison from conviction in second instance. It was also under his management that AGU ensured, in 2019, the recovery of R$7.5 billion for the public coffers through leniency agreements with companies involved in irregularities.

He holds a doctorate and a master’s degree in Law from the University of Salamanca, in Spain, where he presented theses on the recovery of assets diverted by corruption that received the Extraordinary Award from the educational institution. He also holds a postgraduate degree in Public Law from the University of Brasília (UnB). The law degree was at the Bauru Law School (SP).

PEDRO LUPION

PEDRO LUPION, is currently a Federal Deputy and president of the Paraná State Democrats Party and vice-president of the National Democrats. He was a state representative for two consecutive terms, elected in 2010 with 37,304 votes and re-elected in 2014 with 63,580 votes. In 2018 he was elected federal deputy, with 92,300 votes. Pedro Lupion is an advocate of cooperativism, agribusiness, public security, and the development of municipalities.

LÍGIA MARIA SCHERER

LÍGIA MARIA SCHERER, is a Brazilian diplomat and is currently the Consul General of Brazil in Barcelona. She started her diplomatic career in 1979 and was ambassador of Brazil to the Republic of Mozambique, and, cumulatively, to the Kingdom of Swaziland and the Republic of Madagascar (2012-2015). In her diplomatic career, she has already received some decorations such as the Peacemaker Medal (2000) and the Order of Rio Branco (1992).

RENATO JANINE RIBEIRO

RENATO JANINE RIBEIRO, is a Brazilian political philosopher and professor of ethics and political philosophy at the University of São Paulo. On April 6, 2015, he was appointed Minister of Education of Brazil by then-President Dilma Rousseff. He is currently a columnist for the newspaper Valor Econômico.

CHRISTIAN LOHBAUER

CHRISTIAN LOHBAUER, holds a Master’s and Doctor’s degree in Political Science from the University of São Paulo, was VP of Corporate Affairs at Bayer in Brazil, Executive President of CitrusBR, Executive Director of the Brazilian Association of Chicken Exporters (ABPA) and Secretary of International Relations at City Hall from Sao Paulo. He serves as a visiting professor at Fundação Dom Cabral and is a member of the boards of the Business Council of Latin America (CEAL), and of the Institute of International Relations at USP (GACINT / IRI). He was a candidate for vice president of Brazil in the 2018 election, for the New Party.

CIRO GOMES

CIRO GOMES, 62, began his political-administrative career in 1982 at the age of 24, was State and Federal Deputy, Governor of Ceará, Minister of Finance and Minister of National Integration. And, in 2018, he was a candidate for the Presidency of the Republic by the PDT, finishing in third position with 13.3 million votes.

EDUARDO GOMES

EDUARDO GOMES, councilor of Palmas-TO since 1996, arrived at the Chamber of Deputies, in Brasília, in 2002. He was federal deputy for three consecutive terms. Today he is a senator for the MDB-TO and government leader in the National Congress.

ALESSANDRO MOLON

ALESSANDRO MOLON, Federal Deputy (PSB-RJ) and is in his third term in the Chamber of Deputies. He is coordinator of the Environmentalist Parliamentary Front and participated as president of the Human Rights Commission in his second term. Graduated in History and Law, Master in History of Political Ideas from UFF and professor at PUC-Rio in the Law Department.

LAURA CARVALHO

LAURA CARVALHO, is a Professor at the Department of Economics at FEA-USP. She holds a PhD in economics from the New School for Social Research (2012) in New York and researches topics in Macroeconomics and Economic Development, with an emphasis on the relationship between economic growth and income distribution. In addition to publishing academic articles in scientific journals, Laura is a columnist for the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo.

LEONARDO BARROS

LEONARDO BARROS, CEO of Arazul Capital, specializes in asset management, capital markets and investment banking. Doctoral candidate in Applied Economics and Finance, M.Sc. in Economics and Banking – focusing on the study of the Financial Services industry in Brazil and Latin America. Member of the IBEF (Brazilian Institute of Finance Executives) and part of Study Groups on Treasury Operations, in addition to contributing to several technical finance committees.

JOSÉ LUIS OREIRO

JOSÉ LUIS OREIRO, is an economist, PhD in industrial economics and technology and is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Economics at the University of Brasília, Associate Researcher at the Center for New Development Studies at FGV de São Paulo and Senior Member of the Postgraduate Economics Society. Keynesian (PKES). He was president of the Brazilian Association of Keynesianism (2013-2015). He was a professor at the Institute of Economics of UFRJ and UFPR, where he was director of the Center for Economic Research (CEPEC), vice-coordinator of the postgraduate program in economic development and coordinator of the Bulletin of Economics and Technology (2005-2007), of which he was the founder.

DANIEL PEDREIRA DOREA

DANIEL PEDREIRA DOREA, has been the Economic-Financial and Investor Relations Officer (CFO & IRO) of Santos Brasil Participações S.A. since October 2016, having previously held the position of member of the Board of Directors for 4 years. He worked for 6 years at Opportunity Asset Management, directly managing private equity investments in the Oil & Gas, mining, agribusiness, sanitation and infrastructure industries.

DR. PAULO RESENDE

DR. PAULO RESENDE, is professor and coordinator of the research and development center for logistics, supply chain and infrastructure at Fundação Dom Cabral and Chief Researcher of the Center for Advanced Studies in Transport Logistics. He has worked with organizations such as Bunge, Ambev, Brookfield, TV Globo, Kraft, Randon, John Deere, Cargill, Vale, JBS, Basf, Fiat, AngloGold, among others. He was dean, consultant and professor at IBMEC and research assistant at the University of Illinois (USA). Author of books and articles in the areas of logistics, transportation, value chain, supply chain management, sales and distribution channels.

DIOGO PILONI

DIOGO PILONI is a Civil Engineer, specializing in Port Engineering and Management. He has extensive experience as Head of PPP Units in the Port Sector. He is currently the National Secretary for Ports and Waterway Transport, he was Chairman of the Ports of Paraná and the port authority of the Port of Santos, a member of Empresa de Planejamento e Logística S.A. (EPL) and Director of the Investment Partnership Program (IPP) of the Presidency, among other important positions.

EDUARDO DE SOUZA MARTINS

EDUARDO DE SOUZA MARTINS, is a biologist and master in ecology. He worked in the area of public management with research and the environment. He was twice named president of IBAMA and coordinator of WWF Brazil. He is currently a rural producer in the area of planted forests, livestock and organic cachaça in the northern region of Minas Gerais. He is part of the coordination of the Associated Group of Sustainable Agriculture-GAAS, a movement dedicated to promoting the sustainability of agriculture in Brazil.

EVANDRO GUSSI

EVANDRO GUSSI, holds a master’s degree in Constitutional Law from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and a PhD in State Theory from the University of São Paulo (USP). He was a professor at the State University of São Paulo (UNESP) in the areas of Constitutional, Administrative and Environmental Law. From 2014 to 2018, he served his first term as a federal deputy. He assumed the presidency of UNICA in February 2019.

HORÁCIO LAFER PIVA

HORÁCIO LAFER PIVA, is an investing partner and President of Klabin. Chairman of the Deliberative Council of IBÁ – Industria Brasileira de Arvores and Brain4Care S/A. Former president of the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo, being the youngest president of the Fiesp/Ciesp/Sesi/Senai/IRS System. He was chairman of the Boards of the Brazilian Pulp and Paper Association, of the Association for Assistance to Disabled Children, of the DNA Brasil Institute, of SEBRAE and of the Thematic Council of Economics at CNI. He was the leader of the HR theme at MEI – Entrepreneurial Movement for Innovation.

LUCIANA BARRETO

LUCIANA BARRETO, is a presenter on the CNN Brasil channel, with 21 years of experience in television. Previously, he worked on Futura, GNT, BandNews and TV Bandeirantes. Graduated from PUC / Rio in Journalism, she completed a master’s degree in Ethnic-Racial Relations at Cefet / Rio. In 2012 she received the National Journalism Award Abdias Nascimento and in 2015 she joined the list of inspiring women by Think Olga.

PAULA VALDEZ

PAULA VALDEZ, has been an anchor for BandNewsTV and Band, in São Paulo, since 2012. Graduated in journalism from Universidade Luterana do Brasil, the gaúcha previously worked for 12 years at RBSTV, in Rio Grande do Sul, the largest affiliate of Rede Globo in Parents.

DJAMILA RIBEIRO

DJAMILA RIBEIRO, is a philosopher, feminist, writer and academic. She is a researcher and master in philosophy from the Federal University of São Paulo. She became known in Brazil for her activism on the web, in the fight against racism and for gender equality. She writes for CartaCapital, Blogueiras Negras and Revista Azmina and is the author of the book “O que é Lugar de Fala?”.

NEWTON M. CAMPOS

NEWTON M. CAMPOS, National Director of IE Business School in Brazil. Currently, he is Academic Director of the Research Center in Private Equity and Venture Capital at FGVcepe and also Professor of Entrepreneurship at FGV and IE Business School.

JAVIER S. CASADEMUN

JAVIER S. CASADEMUN, is Director of ESADE Business School. Responsible for the General Management of ESADE in Brazil, including design and implementation of the strategic plan, sales management and business development, mainly through strategic partnerships and Key Account Management.

MICHEL RASSY

MICHEL RASSY, Founder and Consultant at Uno Consultoria and Associate Director of Admissions at IESE Business School. He led institutional development for Recode, a global technology education NGO. He is a former senior associate at McKinsey & Company with experience in a variety of industries, primarily in strategy and public service practices. He holds a degree in social communication from ESPM with a postgraduate degree in strategic management and business economics from Fipe / USP and an MBA from the IESE Business School of the University of Navarra.

JOÃO PEDRO GEBRAN NETO

JOÃO PEDRO GEBRAN NETO, has been a Federal Judge since September 1993, promoted, in December 2013, to Federal Judge of the Federal Regional Court of the 4th Region, acting as a member of the 8th Panel of the Court and Member of the National Executive Committee, of the National Health Forum of the CNJ. He holds a master’s degree in Constitutional Law from the Postgraduate Course in Law at the Federal University of Paraná, in 2001, and a postgraduate degree in Criminal Sciences and Criminal Procedure from the Federal University of Paraná, in 1995.

ANDRÉ FONTES

ANDRÉ FONTES, has been a Judge of the Federal Regional Court of the 2nd Region since February 2001, resulting from the vacancy destined for the fifth constitutional for the Federal Public Ministry, in which he remained from December 1989 to February 2001, as Attorney of the Republic, and later, as Regional Attorney of the Republic. He was a Judge at the Regional Electoral Court from 2013 to 2017. In the academic field, he is a Professor at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro, and is the author of several works on Law.

FÁBIO GEORGE CRUZ DA NÓBREGA

FÁBIO GEORGE CRUZ DA NÓBREGA, is Regional Attorney of the Republic and currently chairs the National Association of Attorneys of the Republic (ANPR). Dr. Fábio has a degree in Law from the Center for Legal Sciences at UFPB. He was Counselor of the National Council of the Public Ministry for two terms, from 2014 to 2018. He was coordinator of the State Forum to Combat Corruption in Paraíba and Pernambuco.

BRUNO WESTIN

BRUNO WESTIN, Deputy Special Secretary of the Special Secretariat of the Investment Partnerships Program (SPPI), Bruno Westin was Federal Auditor of Finance and Control of the National Treasury Secretariat (STN), held the positions of Director at the Special Secretariat for Privatization, Divestment and Markets of the Ministry of Economy and Assistant Secretary of State for Finance of Minas Gerais in 2015. He was a member of the Board of Directors of CEMIG in 2015 and 2016. He also served as Budget Director of SEST/SEDDM/ME in 2019.

MARCELO MOREIRA

MARCELO MOREIRA, is the CEO of CODEVASF (São Francisco and Parnaíba Valley Development Company) and holds an MBA from Fundação Getúlio Vargas. He also worked for more than 12 years as a civil engineer at Odebrecht.

NICOLA KHOURY

NICOLA KHOURY, is the General Coordinator of External Infrastructure Control at the Federal Court of Auditors.

TABATA AMARAL

TABATA AMARAL, 26, political scientist and astrophysicist, education activist. She co-founded Movimento Acredita, a non-partisan initiative focused on reducing inequality in the country, and Movimento Mapa da Educação, whose mission is to engage young people in the fight for quality education for all Brazilians. In 2018, she was elected Federal Deputy for São Paulo, as the most voted candidate in the state, with 264 thousand votes.

EVALDO VILELA, is currently president of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), president of the National Council of State Foundations for Research Support (CONFAP), was president of FAPEMIG, Deputy Secretary of Science and Technology of the State of Minas Gerais, rector of the Federal University of Viçosa and Director of Funarbe.

TIAGO MITRAUD

TIAGO MITRAUD, is currently a Federal Deputy for the NOVO-MG Party, served as leader of RenovaBR, managing director at Fundação Estudar, President of the Brazilian Confederation of Junior Enterprises and in numerous other associations.

ADRIANA VENTURA

ADRIANA VENTURA, is a federal deputy for the New Party of São Paulo. She holds a degree in public administration, a master’s and a doctorate in business administration from EAESP-FGV, addressing ethics and integrity in her thesis. She is a professor of administration at EAESP-FGV, businesswoman, co-founder of Espaço 10×21 and Natyvo Consméticos. Adriana is also an advisor to Fundação Julita, which assists people over 65 years of age in a situation of social vulnerability in the city of São Paulo.

CHAO WEN

CHAO WEN, is a physician, associate professor at USP with a Doctorate in Medical Informatics and Free Lecture in Telemedicine from the Faculty of Medicine of USP. He is currently Head of the Discipline of Telemedicine at the Department of Pathology at FMUSP, Leader of the USP Research Group in Telemedicine, Educational Technologies and eHealth at CNPq / MCTI, Member of the Technical Chamber of Health Informatics of the Federal Council of Medicine. He was a founding partner of the Brazilian Council of Telemedicine and Telehealth (CBTms, in Nov/2002) and president of the entity, from 2006-2013.

EDUARDO CORDIOLI

EDUARDO CORDIOLI, Physician at the Federal University of São Paulo, master’s degree in gynecology and obstetrics with a focus on high complexity obstetrics and fetal medicine. MBA in Health Management. Since 2001, he has been working at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, being the medical coordinator of the maternity hospital and medical manager of the advanced unit. In 2016, he assumed the medical management of telemedicine at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein and since then has led technology and care teams in digital transformation and health innovation projects.

JOSÉ RONALDO PIZANI

JOSÉ RONALDO PIZANI, Graduated in Mathematics from IME-USP and MBA from the University of Edinburgh, began his career as a developer/entrepreneur in 1992. He founded 3 companies (Uniconsult – 1992, Artifactus – 2000 and Tarkena – 2005), the last one being acquired by B2W Digital in 2013. Participated in the creation of B2W Tech Labs, the area responsible for research and technological innovation at B2W. He led and implemented several projects in Data Science, Analytics and Big Data at B2W, including the Apache Marvin project, an open source ML-Ops platform (https://marvin.apache.org). In 2019, he was invited to lead B2W’s HR digital transformation initiative, leading the Employee Experience and People Analytics initiatives.

MARIO MEIRELLES

MARIO MEIRELLES, Graduated in Business Administration with an MBA from ESADE Business School, Mario has more than ten years of experience in large multinationals in the areas of Marketing, Sales and Strategic Planning. He started his career at Accenture in the Strategy area, and after a stint at Google as an Account Executive, he is currently GM of Amazon Advertising in Brazil.

ANDRÉ SANTOS

ANDRÉ SANTOS, With long experience in the Free Market, being considered one of the greatest mentors in the training of Free Market sellers, Digital Transformation and Online Marketing in Brazil, André Santos trained around 100,000 entrepreneurs in events such as the MPE-net Cycle, SEBRAE, Feira do Empreendedor, First E-commerce, MercadoLivre University and free market experience in recent years. As an entrepreneur, he is the founder of the website E-commerce PME and ECOMM lectures and innovation, a content platform that aims to train medium and small entrepreneurs who want to acquire knowledge in e-commerce and insert their companies in the new digital economy. JOSÉ RICARDO SEIXAS PEREIRA

Master in Constitutional Law from the University of Coimbra-Portugal (2016). MBA in Public Management from Fundação Getúlio Vargas – FGV (2016). Post-graduate degree in Constitutional Law from Tiradentes University – UNIT (2007). Graduated in Law from Universidade Católica do Salvador (2001). He was Chief Prosecutor of the Union in the State of Sergipe, Coordinator of the AGU School in the State of Sergipe and General Legal Coordinator of the Regional Attorney of the Union in the 1st Region and General Legal Coordinator of Land Regularization in the Legal Amazon before the Legal Advisory of the Special Secretariat of Family Agriculture and Agrarian Development. He has experience in the area of Law, with an emphasis on Constitutional and Administrative Law, acting mainly on the following themes: government, civil, environmental, consumer, participation, bidding and cooperative societies. He is currently a professor of civil law at the Higher Education Center of Brasília – IESB and Director of the Department of Calculations and Expertise of the Federal Attorney General.

FRANCISCO ARBÓS

Has a degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Barcelona and a Master’s in Publishing from Pompeu Fabra University. As a specialist in corporate diplomacy, planning and management of internationalisation processes, he has developed projects for governments and companies on 4 continents.In 2016, he became the executive director of the Brazil- Catalonia Chamber of Commerce, an entity dedicated to promoting economic and cultural relations between Brazil and Catalonia. In 2019 he founded the consultancy firm Executive Partners, dedicated to advising companies in the areas of internationalisation, digitalisation and business development. Since September 2020, he has also been the exclusive representative of Mapfre Seguros.

LEONARDO CAMPOS

Corporate Accounts Director for strategic accounts at IE Business School. Expert in corporate learning and development, building partnerships with public and private global enterprises to enable leadership development and digital transformation. He is also a Diversity & Inclusion specialist, corporate lead to the IE Diversity Center. Author of a number of country analysis articles to the Spanish newspaper Expasión. Leonardo is a civil engineer graduated from Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, with MBA and MA in International Relations from IE Business School and is an alumnus of the United Nations Graduate Programme.

Co-founder of Mandato Ativo, pioneering consultancy for innovation in parliamentary mandates and political projects. He holds a master’s degree in international law from LSE, a specialist in economic law from GV-Law and is certified as a mediator. He worked with public policies in the Brazilian Ministry of Justice, in advocacy and in RAPS, an organization in which he contributed to the development of political leaders aligned with sustainable development. He is a member of the AGORA! movement.

CAIO ZENARDO

Is currently Suzano’s director of forests, he was also director of forests at Fibria and served as president of Florestar – Associação Paulista dos Produtores, Fornecedores e Consumidores de Florestas Plantadas. He has a proven track record in the paper and forest products industry. He specialises in Process Control, Innovation Management, Change Management, Operational Forest Management. Professional graduated from ESALQ / USP with a postgraduation from FGV and IMD Business School.

GUILHERME PEREIRA

President of the OAB-BA Concessions and PPPs Committee, lawyer with fifteen years of experience in structuring projects in the infrastructure sector in Brazil and Latin America. Master of Laws Degree in Business Law and Economic and Social Development (LL.M.) from Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Law School with a period as a Visiting Scholar at Columbia Law School (2011). MBA in Business Economy degree from University of São Paulo (2008). Specialization in Business Law from the Catholic University of São Paulo (2004). Mr. Pereira has several articles published in Brazil, addressing issues on business law, regulation and infrastructure Law.

JOSÉ LUIS LOREIRO

Is an economist, PhD in economics of industry and technology and is currently an Associate Professor at the Economics Department of the University of Brasilia, an Associate Researcher at the Centro de Estudos do Novo Desenvolvimento of FGV in São Paulo and a Senior Member of the Post Keynesian Economics Society (PKES). He was President of the Brazilian Association of Keynesianism (2013-2015). He was a professor at the Institute of Economics of UFRJ and UFPR, where he was director of the Centre for Economic Research (CEPEC), vice-coordinator of the post-graduate programme in economic development and coordinator of the Bulletin of Economics and Technology (2005- 2007), of which he was the founder.

REJANE MODESTO

Journalist, specialized in Television, in the area of journalism production. He worked in the Bandeirantes, RECORD and SBT networks. At Bandeirantes, he coordinated for the journalism department, the Confederation Cup 2013 and FIFA Wourld Cup/ 2014, in Pernambuco, Brazil. At RECORD, he produced national reports for the Jornal da RECORD, Fala Brasil and Domingo Espetacular, in addition to cooperating with the RECORD Special Reporter on shark attacks in Brazil! Currently studying Marketing and Comunicación en Deportes at Barça Universitas, from Futebol Clube Barcelona, Spain.

DANIEL CHAPELA

Civil engineer graduated from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie. He worked for six in the planning and construction of real estate projects in the city of São Paulo. He is currently studying for a Master in Management at IE Business School.

DOUGLAS MONROE

Graduated in Business Administration at UFMG, he worked for five years as a Business Management Consultant and for four years in leadership roles in startups. He is currently Global Project Manager at Docplanner, the world’s biggest healthcare platform.

CAMILA KOCH PENA

Researcher at São Paulo University (USP), Coordinator of TELEMEDICINA of Humberto Castro Lima Hospital (HHCL). She holds a Master’s from Barraquer Institute of Ophthalmology and a PhD from USP.
